Chad was born in London, England as the second son to Carter and Zoe Vasquez. His father had lived in the city his entire life since his parents had moved there before he was born, but Chad's mother was from the United States. The family lived in London until Chad was six when they decided to move elsewhere since Zoe had a new job opportunity in a smaller town. After settling in their new home, Chad's father also got a new job for a small logging company. It was mostly just a temporary job, but after a year of working there, he began to really enjoy it. Life was going well for the small family of five. However, an accident one day at Carter's job ruined everything for the family. He had been killed deep in the forest while logging and was unable to receive any immediate help. Zoe went into a deep depression, unable to take care of her children or do anything, really. She even had to quit her job. Carter's father took the family in to take care of the children and his daughter-in-law until she got better.
When Chad was about twelve years old, his mother began to slowly feel better with her medications. She also decided she wanted to move back with her family and let her children get to know their maternal grandparents and family. They packed their belongings and moved to Lebeaux. Chad and his siblings didn't really like their new home and how completely different everything was. It all felt strange to not be back home in England. They soon got used to it though. Chad began school at Lebeaux Preparatory. He never really talked to anyone else in his classes and really only had two close friends - and he wasn't even that close to them.
After graduating high school, Chad attended Barfield Institute of Science and Technology in Barfield. He majored in geology since he had always wanted to be a geologist. Plus, it just seemed like the perfect area for him to work in. After graduating BIST, he started looking around for jobs. He found a position at Amarok Montagnes National Park in Blackwood Mountain. The park had been around for many years and covered most of the small mountain range known as Amarok Montagnes, which is obviously how the park got it's name. After getting the job, he found an apartment in Blackwood and moved in there. After finding out that one of his high school friends, Victoria Carrero, was also working at the park as a historian, they decided to move in together since he had an extra room in his apartment. The two got closer at work and definitely were able to be best friends. Chad has only been working at the park for about two months, but he really does enjoy his job.
